Women of Vision Fund’s 2018 Power of the Purse Returns to St. Augustine

Every year, Flagler College’s Women of Vision gather to raise the funds to fulfill their mission – providing scholarships, educational opportunities, and empowerment for women who attend Flagler College. Their annual Power of the Purse event is the organization’s primary fundraiser and will take place in Flagler College’s Ponce Hall. The event begins at 10am on Thursday, May 17 with the purse silent auction. The luncheon begins at 11:30am and the program begins at 12:15pm.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

This year’s keynote speakers are Meghan Klein Toups and Lena Franklin. Compassion, holistic healing, and higher consciousness are the tenets of Meghan’s approach to facilitating healing and wellness. She is an integrative psychotherapist and health coach, currently earning her Ph.D. in Psychology and Consciousness. Utilizing various healing modalities, like meditation, mindfulness, nutrition, and nature, Meghan’s work focuses on healing from within. She owns a health and wellness business with her husband called Merge Health, Fitness & Nutrition and specializes in the holistic treatment of anxiety, stress, and depression. She has a special interest in maternity and working with mothers to overcome anxiety. Meghan’s approach is “whole-istic” and she looks at each client from a mind, body and spirit perspective. Meghan leads wellness workshops, retreats and interactive classes nationwide. She has been featured as a health and wellness expert on various media outlets including The Dr. Karin Show, NewsTalk 1160 on The Jackie Wonder Show and Cobb Life Magazine.

Offering the ancient practices of mindfulness and meditation utilizing a fresh, modern voice is the essence of Lena’s work. As a Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapist, Meditation Instructor and International Wellness Guide, Lena will teach you that “to journey in inward is your highest calling.” Integrating Eastern philosophy with Western neuroscience, Lena’s holistic healing work is grounded in Buddhist Psychology, Healing Yoga, and Chinese Energy Medicine in addition to psychodynamic foundations. Lena owns a mindfulness business based in Atlanta, GA where she sees individual clients, provides mindfulness corporate training, teaches personal growth workshops and guides meditation retreats around the globe. Lena is also Head of Content for Welzen Mindfulness Meditation App. Raised in a hybrid Buddhist/Christian household, Lena was introduced to meditation as a young child. Today, this mindfulness foundation has grown into a deep passion to guide others on a journey towards inner peace, emotional balance and a felt sense of wholeness.
