7th Annual DATIL PEPPER EATING CONTEST

The winner of Hot Shot Bakery’s 7th annual Datil Pepper Eating Contest is, once again, Neil Amato ~ who won in 2015, 2016 and again last week by eating 61 of the colorful little chocolate covered peppers. The competition was open to contestants who enjoy hot foods and believe they can eat more than anyone else of the chocolate-dipped datil peppers from Hot Shot Bakery. The four courageous entrants were cheered on by friends, family and passers-by in St. Augustine.
Held at the Café’s open air verandah on Cordova Street on April 15, contestants prepared themselves for a close competition.
