THE PLAYERS Championship has opened applications for its annual Red Coats’ Community Grants Program, offering Northeast Florida nonprofits an opportunity to receive funding for projects that support local communities. Applications opened May 18 and will remain available through June 15 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Eligible nonprofit organizations in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties may apply for grants of up to $25,000. The annual program supports organizations focused on youth services, education, character development, health and wellness, sports, and military assistance programs.
THE PLAYERS Championship said the grants help strengthen Northeast Florida communities by funding local initiatives that improve quality of life and expand community resources.“ Northeast Florida is home to so many organizations making a positive impact, and we’re proud to support their efforts,” said Rusty Pritchett, captain of the Red Coats. “The Red Coats are honored to help fund programs that improve lives and strengthen our community.” The Red Coats, a volunteer ambassador organization associated with THE PLAYERS Championship, have played a major role in supporting charitable initiatives connected to the tournament for decades.
Nonprofit organizations interested in applying can access the application and eligibility requirements through THE PLAYERS Championship website. Officials encouraged applicants to review the full grant guidelines before submitting proposals. The grants represent another part of THE PLAYERS Championship’s long-standing charitable impact across Northeast Florida. Tournament organizers said proceeds generated through the championship continue supporting local nonprofits and community organizations throughout the region.
Since THE PLAYERS Championship began in 1974 and relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1977, the tournament has generated more than $120 million for Northeast Florida charities. Held annually at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, the tournament remains one of the PGA TOUR’s premier events and attracts many of the world’s top professional golfers. The championship is widely recognized for the iconic Island Green on the 17th hole, one of the most famous holes in golf.
Community leaders throughout Northeast Florida often rely on grant programs like the Red Coats’ Community Grants Program to help fund educational initiatives, youth development programs, recreational opportunities, and health-focused services. THE PLAYERS Championship continues expanding its role beyond professional golf by investing in organizations that directly serve local residents.
Organizations seeking funding must complete applications before the June 15 deadline. Tournament officials expect strong interest from nonprofits across the five-county region.
