On the heels of a new album release, we caught up with this local, born and raised in St. Augustine musician to find out what fuels his music, where he spends his days when he’s not performing and what’s next on his radar. Sam Pacetti is undoubtedly one of the most talented people that make our town so unique and a 10 minute conversation with this guy will have you contemplating the meaning of life.
Favorite Restaurant in St. Augustine: Far too numerous to mention just one. But I’d include; Gaufres & Good’s, Gas, Ned’s South Side Kitchen and La Herencia to name a few.
Favorite thing to do in St. Augustine when I’m not working: Complete my most recent quantum hyper-dimensional EM drive mechanism. Read stoic philosophers or go fishing for the elusive speckled trout in my boat.
How did you end up right where you are today? That’s a circuitous story. Having traveled far and wide, I’ve found that if one intends to live in Florida, St Augustine is the best choice for longevity. My entire life has been the story of an ambivalent love affair with this city. Though ambivalence may have brought me here, It’s magnetism that made me stay.
What does making music do for your soul? Music is what helps me remember that there is far more to this reality than what the tangible senses can account for. Music is my connection to the ethereal, nebulous, non-corporeal, realms of being that we all share our roots in. It’s one of the most direct paths for me to experience or create beauty. Though sometimes…It’s my nemesis.
What do you do when you’re not performing? I enjoy the water, both surfing and fishing. Reading heretical manuscripts, and working in my alchemical workshop. I enjoy travel, both physically and astrally.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned thus far in life? That we are capable of altering the course of our personal realities or narrow reality tunnels if we but change our minds.
What’s your personal mission statement? To help as much as possible.
What’s your super power? It’s a double edged sword…prescience.
