Registration is underway for the 2018 Summer Art Camp that starts June 4, at the St. Augustine Art Association. Four weekly morning sessions for children in grades 1 through 6 and an afternoon session for ages 12 and up will explore painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media techniques with projects inspired by master artists. Taught by professional artist-educators, the themed camps are held Monday through Friday at 22 Marine Street in historic St. Augustine.
Session 1: THRONES (June 4 – 8, 9am to noon)
This fantasy-art kingdom brings the Dark Ages to light with royal selfie portraits, Medieval illuminated manuscripts, and fantastic 3D gargoyles.
Session 2: MY COUSIN VINCENT (June 11 – 15, 9am to noon)
Kids take an exciting journey with Vincent Van Gogh into Impressionism and Expressionism re-imagining masterworks like Starry Nights, sunflowers and cityscapes.
Session 3: SOAR! (June 18 – 22, 9am to noon)
From fanciful birds and kites to far-out rockets and UFOs, these artistic expressions of flight will inspire earthbound kids to catch the wind and soar.

Just in time for the 80th anniversary of Superman, kids will tap their artistic superpowers to create graphic cartoons and comic-inspired mixed media action heroes.
