Two classical pieces contain Christmas surprise “gifts”;  the Farandole from the L’Arlesienne Suite is by Georges Bizet, who is famous for composing the opera “Carmen”.   The Fantasia on the Dargason is the final movement of the “St. Paul’s Suite”, written by eminent British composer Gustav Holst for the orchestra of the St. Paul’s School for Girls in London.

We will feature several movements from the beloved “Nutcracker Suite” by Tchaikovsky, along with other holiday favorites including The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) by Mel Torme.  The St. Augustine High School Chorus will sing several selections.  The orchestra and the chorus will join forces for the concert finale:  The Hallelujah Chorus from “Messiah”.
