As the weather begins to heat up, it’s hard to beat the refreshment and enjoyment that comes as the result of sipping a fresh, blended smoothie. And there’s no shortage of these delightful beverages here in St. Augustine.
Here are seven smoothie (and juice) destinations to add to your “must try” list this season. Cool down and chill at any one (or all) of these local spots.

WEST KING
1. The Present Moment Cafe & Market
Though this local establishment, situated just over U.S. 1 on West King, is perhaps best known for its creative, and tasteful raw vegan cuisine, The Present Moment has an entire page of its menu dedicated to refreshments that should not be overlooked. The Present Moment offers a selection of juices and a seasonal green smoothie with fresh fruits. Plus, if you’re feeling like your system needs an extra boost, or are craving something more powerful, they even offer quenching wellness shots, including the immune boost with ginger, cayenne, maple and lemon. 224 West King Street, thepresentmomentcafe.com
DOWNTOWN
2. Crave Food Truck
Known for its smoothie, salads, and wraps, Crave Food Truck has grown to offer even more menu items to choose from, and now is home to an expansive fully covered seating area. Choose from any one of Crave’s fresh smoothie selections – made with the choice of coconut water or almond milk – and sit by the water and enjoy, or take your smoothie on a walk with you around downtown. 134 Riberia Street, Connect with Crave on Facebook

3. Flavors Eatery
This eclectic downtown eatery serves up a mix of fruit smoothies, and for those craving something a bit more decadent, hearty milkshakes. Visit Flavors during their extended dinner hours on Friday evenings and sip your smoothie in the company of live music. 125 King Street, flavorseateryflorida.com
ON THE ISLAND
4. Planet Sarbez
Along with being known for their innovative grilled cheese menu, and live music, Planet Sarbez has a lineup of smoothies and shakes, with original names that match their offbeat personality. 115 Anastasia Blvd., Sarbez on Facebook
5. Creative Juices
Specializing in fresh veg-friendly food, this cafe, juice and smoothie bars offers cold press juices, and smoothies. If you find a juice you like on the menu, you can turn it into a green smoothie, or try something entirely different like the cinnamon coffee smoothie. 846 Anastasia Blvd. creativejuicesnaturalcafe.com
6. Big Island Bowls
If you’re open to an entirely different take on smoothies, like using a utensil rather than a straw, and enjoying fresh fruit on top of your frozen treat, rather than simply blended in, stop by Big Island Bowls and order a smoothie bowl. Big Island Bowls serves up hand crafted Acai Bowls with the choice of healthy toppers like berries, oats or coconut. Follow along on Facebook to keep up with daily bowl specials. 551 Anastasia Blvd (by Mojos Tacos). Big Island Bowls on Facebook
ON THE BEACH
7. Stir it Up
Even if you can’t quite take an entire day off to go play at the beach, a drive out to St. Augustine Beach for the sake of a little sun and a smoothie break at Stir it Up is well worth it. Stir it Up offers sizable smoothies in regular (which is already on the large size) or an even larger size. In addition to more traditional flavor varieties, Stir It Up offers smoothies like the “PB Jammin,” a blend of strawberries and banana with peanut butter and apple juice, that tastes like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a cup. If you choose to sit, stay and drink your smoothie on their outdoor porch, you get the added bonus of people watching. 18 A St., Stir It Up on Facebook
