Have questions about the upcoming 450th festivities? The planning team has answers for you.
As the days countdown to Celebrate 450! the city has announced a series of community town halls that offer opportunities for one-on-one question-and-answer sessions regarding the event. Celebrate 450! is the five-day long, culminating event of St. Augustine’s 450th Commemoration scheduled for September 4-8, 2015.
Several weeks ago the city initiated a Frequently Asked Question feature at www.StAugustine-450.com which has proven both popular and helpful. Its popularity stems from people getting questions answered quickly, and its usefulness comes from new questions that are answered in updates to the site. The town halls are a chance to ask those frequent questions to those who are managing the event.
Celebrate 450! planning teams have put massive work into nailing down the details, but welcoming neighborhood residents and merchant input is vital to ensure a successful event. All the town halls are open to the public and have been set in various locations to promote access by all of the community.
The first town hall is Tuesday, June 23 at the Casa Monica Hotel’s Flagler Ballroom starting at 5:30pm. Many will remember the very successful town hall held in this location before the Mumford and Son’s event in September 2013.
While the initial town hall is most convenient for residents and businesses located in the downtown and its adjacent neighborhoods, the other two will be closer to business and residents along San Marco Avenue and the other for those along Anastasia Blvd. The other town halls are scheduled for:
- Visitor Information Center will be on Tuesday, July 7 at 6:00pm, and
- Blackfly Restaurant, Anastasia Blvd on Tuesday, July 14 at 5:30pm.
