SACSPA Hosts 2017 Dancing Stars of St. Johns County

Get ready for a stupendous night of sparkles, sequins, and dazzling smiles! The St. Augustine Community School of Performing Arts (SACSPA) will be hosting the annual “Dancing Stars of St. Johns County” at Lewis Auditorium. Ala popular television series “Dancing with the Stars,” numerous local “celebrities” don their dancing shoes and pair up with professional dance instructors from Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Doing their best Fred and Ginger, the couples will tango, salsa, and waltz their way into the spotlight.

The evening will be hosted by David Hartzel. This year’s celebrity dancers will be Zumba instructor Nickie Gorce, hair stylist Kristi Lovelace, cheerleading instructor Melanie Hardin, owner of What HE Sees, Megan McCloud, artist Sylvia Cerri-Bartels, and sign language instructor Rachel Danielson. The competition will be judged by previous “Dancing Stars of St. Johns County” winner, Bill McClure, previous judge and master of ceremonies, John Reardon, and founder of Act4 the Nations, Sharon Williams. Each dancing couple will compete for two awards – People’s Choice, based on votes from the general public, and Judges’ Choice, decided by the panel based on the evening’s performances.

The event will take place on July 8 at 7pm. Tickets include entrance to the event as well as a seated dinner. Proceeds will benefit the non-profit St. Augustine Community School of Performing Arts. Tickets are $25.
