The Rhythm & Ribs Festival features barbecue vendors from across the south, a BBQ competition, live music, a kids zone and Kiss the Pig, a fundraiser for Learn to Read. The festival is held at Francis Field, 29 W. Castillo Drive, downtown St. Augustine. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 31; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 1; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 2. Hosted by the St. Augustine Sunrise Rotary, all proceeds go to more than 2 dozen local charities and nonprofits. With the help of nearly 200 volunteers, a total of 2,000 hours are volunteered over the weekend.
The music schedule includes Laura Reed, The Hip Abduction, Take Cover Band, Go Get Gone, The Kilwein Family Tree-o, Galactic and other regional bands. Go to rhythmandribs.net to stay updated
