English writer Samuel Johnson once said, “Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance.” For Kimberly Hausmann, words could not ring more true. As the owner of Progressive Aesthetics, a permanent cosmetic and advanced skin care business on Anastasia Boulevard, Hausmann has proven to be a woman with perseverance.
“I opened in this location in November of 2015 and, after a month, the city came to me and said, ‘You can’t open a tattoo parlor within city limits,’” Hausmann, who is a Certified Paramedical Aesthetician and Micropigmentation Specialist, explains of offering services such as permanent makeup via tattooing. “I had to stand up and give a presentation to the commission telling them about what I do.”
Perseverance paid off, and Hausmann was allowed to continue offering services, not just to clients looking to improve their physical appearance, but also to those seeking a return to normalcy. Hausmann does Microneedling, which helps reduce the appearance of scars and trauma scars, as well as 3D nipple and areola tattooing for women who have undergone mastectomies and other breast surgeries.

“I’m not a high-pressure person. I always offer complimentary consultations and answer any questions that my clients might have,” says Hausmann. “I’ve helped burn victims and even people with cleft lips. I genuinely want to help people and make them feel confident.”
In October of 2016, Hausmann’s perseverance was tested again when her shop sustained two to three feet of floodwater damage from Hurricane Matthew and then again, in September of 2017, when her storefront experienced a roof leak, and more damage occurred.
“Going through all of that made me realize how strong I am,” Hausmann explains. “It also made me realize that, over the years, women have been coming to me for outer beauty while inner beauty and whole-body wellness are just as important.”
Hausmann is currently enrolled to become a Certified Natural Health Professional and is working towards becoming an Emotion Code Practitioner to help client’s release “trapped emotions” through holistic approaches.
“I love what I do,” she says of owning Progressive Aesthetics. “I’ve been doing this for more than 16 years, and I always stay a step ahead of the latest techniques. I like to say that my style is classic and conservative to allow you to age healthily and gracefully.”
