Plum Gallery will be kicking off their summer season in their new expanded space at #10 Aviles St. in beautiful downtown St. Augustine right off the Plaza. Exhibiting will be artists Holly Blanton, Claire Kendrick, Barbara Cornett and Gina Starr.
Holly Blanton creates mixed media art works that resound and resonate with images culled from her imagination in such a way as to allow the viewer to delve into their own imagination to interpret.
Claire Jane Kendrick is a gifted colorist whose paintings are bold and richly textured. She says “you should paint as you live life…see the things of beauty you enjoy and fill your life with that energy.”.
Assemblage artist, Barbara Cornett, explores the acceptance of imperfection in her pieces that celebrate unpolished beauty in its most austere state. Her new series debuting at Plum emphasize patinas and textures utilizing discarded handmade objects.
Gina Starr has seen the world but her ‘cat totem’s’ evolved from the love of her two cats she has in her home in St. Augustine. She uses a multi-step ink overlay method in celebrating society’s historical appreciation of the feline.
Come experience these diverse talents on First Friday Art Walk June 5th from 5-9 pm at Plum Gallery at #10 Aviles St in St. Augustine. Call 904-825-0069 or go to www.plumartgallery.com
