Palencia Resident Eddie Creamer Accepts Top Workplace Award

Palencia resident Eddie Creamer recently accepted the 2026 Jacksonville Top Workplaces Award on behalf of the St. Johns County Property Appraiser’s Office during a February 25 ceremony at The River Club.

Presented by The Florida Times-Union, the award recognizes organizations across Northeast Florida that foster strong, people-centered workplace cultures. In addition to earning a spot among the region’s Top Workplaces, the Property Appraiser’s Office ranked among the top three small organizations and received a special distinction for its employee benefits. The honor is based entirely on feedback from employees, gathered through a confidential survey conducted by Energage. The survey measures key elements of workplace culture, including engagement, organizational alignment, respect, leadership effectiveness, and opportunities for professional growth. For Creamer and his team, the recognition reflects a deliberate effort to create an environment where employees feel valued and supported.

“This award belongs to our staff,” Creamer said. “They are the reason we’re able to serve the community at a high level, and it’s important that they feel respected, heard, and empowered in their roles.”

The St. Johns County Property Appraiser’s Office employs 49 staff members who provide essential services to residents across the county, including property assessments, exemptions, and public records. While the office’s work often happens behind the scenes, its impact is felt widely through fair and accurate property valuations that support local government functions and public services. Creamer emphasized that building a strong internal culture directly benefits the community. When employees are engaged and motivated, he said, they are better equipped to deliver responsive, reliable service to residents.

For Palencia neighbors and St. Johns County residents alike, the recognition offers a glimpse into the values guiding one of the area’s key public offices. As the team continues its work, the award underscores a simple but powerful idea: investing in people—both employees and the public they serve—remains at the heart of its mission.
