Night Owl Cinema Series Brings Free Summer Movies to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre

Looking for a family-friendly, fun movie event without the exuberant cost of the movie theater? Community First Bank has partnered with our very own St. Augustine Amphitheatre to bring you the Night Owl Cinema Series, a free screening of family movie favorites once a week during the summer months.

From June 14 to August 7, movies will be projected at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. All movies shown are rated PG or G. Gates open at 7 p.m. and movies begin at 8 p.m. Be sure to arrive early, settle in with the family and enjoy some of the classics.

2015 CINEMA SERIES SCHEDULE 

June 21 — Back to the Future (PG)

The cult classic movie details the story of a teen who is accidentally sent 30 years into the past by his off-handed friend and scientist, Dr. Emmett Brown. While there, he must ensure that his teenage parents form a bond in order to secure his very existence. Notable Actors include: Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd

July 12 — Muppets Most Wanted (PG)

A sure favorite of kids and parents alike, the muppets embark on a world tour where they become entangled in muppet-schemes and jewel heists with the aid of a kermit look-a-like and other formidable foes. Notable Actors Include: Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey

July 19 — Paddington (PG)

A cherished part of British Culture, Paddington tells the story of a Peruvian Bear who travels to London in search of a home. While there, he encounters misfortunes, adventures and the true meaning of family. Notable Actors Include: Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins

July 26 — Sandlot (PG)

Get into trouble with the team! Follow the story of the new kid in town as he is taken under the wing of a local baseball prodigy and his team. Full of outrageous characters and hilarious shenanigans. Notable Actors Include: Tom Guiry, Mike Vitar

July 31 — Cinderella (PG)

A favorite of little princes and princesses everywhere, this original cartoon depicts the difficult life of Cinderella as she endure hardships with her evil step-mother and step-sisters and finds refuge in the arms of an unlikely love.

August 7 — Babe (G)

Follow the Journey of an orphaned pig who works to discover his place in the world. When he is taken in by a sheep dogs on a small farm, Babe learns to follow his heart and face challenging obstacles. Notable Actors include: James Cromwell, Magda Szubanski.

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is located on Anastasia Island at 1340C A1A South. Admission and parking for the Cinema Series are free. Concessions available onsite. Learn more about the series, here.
