On September 24, Melissa celebrated her 11th year as owner of Small Indulgences Day Spa and Salon, located in a 112-year-old house on Sanchez Avenue. “The building is pretty unique,” says Melissa. “It kind of creates this nice environment for health and wellness.”

Owner Melissa (Mel) DeLuca started on this path while sitting on the beach at Wakiki, thinking about what to do with the next phase of her life. She was divorcing and looking for a new direction. “I want to cut hair,” she decided, having previously been in the dental field. Her new direction meant cosmetology school and a return home.
