Created by local musician Micah Gilliam (of The Willowwacks), the St. Augustine Symposium was established as a way to allow people to share meaningful, informative and useful stories of unique knowledge, accomplishments and triumphs. These recurring gatherings are held locally in St. Augustine on a quarterly basis.
Each Symposium features a new selection of presenters and Gilliam serves as the moderator for each event. The goal is not only to inform and inspire but to procure a deeper connection by focusing on the trials and backstory, as well as the end results.
“My intention is to educate people through the stories of others’ experiences and inspire them to experiment with their own creative ideas,” said Gilliam.
Thursday night October 1, the St. Augustine Symposium returns with a lineup of young business entrepreneurs hailing from St. Augustine and Jacksonville.
“I’ll be dialoguing with the speakers about the unseen aspects of creating a successful business, from conception to follow through,” explained Gilliam.
The Symposium takes place from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday October 1 in the Solarium at Flagler College. The event will include merchandise booths representing each speaker’s business. Following the presentation will be a time of questions and answers, and mingling.
