Local Car Enthusiast Justin Felker Organizes Nocatee Car Show

As a kid growing up in Jacksonville, Justin Felker remembers when his dad, Paul, brought home a Ford Model A. Watching NASCAR on TV together slowly ramped up Justin’s life-long love of classic cars. By his early twenties, he started working with Scott Lagasse Racing (Team SLR), where he got to harness his passion. He and his team repaired and maintained cars fresh off the race track. “I was involved with working on almost everything at some point,” recalls Justin. A highlight of his time with the pro racing team was a dirt late model win they scored at Volusia Speedway. Prior to the victory, they assembled the winning rig with the help of hundreds of Scouting America troops and councils for what turned out to be a landmark event. The five years he spent with Team SLR would go on to inform new chapters of his career path.

Preparation would eventually meet opportunity. The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce had been organizing the Ponte Vedra Auto Show for 18 years up until the spring of 2020. By then, Justin’s expertise and passion for classic cars propelled him into his role as president of Art ‘n Motion, an uptown classic car showroom he runs with his dad. The industrial-style building is an iconic standout, greeting passersby shortly after entering the northern city gates. “I had been wanting to start doing a car show,” shares Justin. Meanwhile, the Chamber’s search for a successor from among the community was underway. “They had done the legwork of getting it going. We’ve kind of taken it to the next level,” reflects Justin. He hasn’t forgotten his roots with Team SLR. “I see the race team guys every day. Art ‘n Motion and Team SLR are long term lease partners. In fact, the uptown showroom was built with them Team SLR in mind. This year’s show will be held on November 2nd at the Nocatee Station Event Field from 10am to 3pm. 200 classic and collector cars will be featured at the family-oriented event. Admission is free for spectators.
