Downton Abbey fans rejoice! Before the final episode of Downton Abbey’s last season broadcasts at 9 p.m. on WJCT Public Television, the Lightner Museum and WJCT will host an early screening of the Downton Abbey series finale on March 6 at the Lightner Museum. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a reception and the opportunity to view the museum’s exhibits after hours. At 6:30 p.m. the Museum will screen the final episode of the series in the historic Alcazar Hotel pool, now the location of Café Alcazar.
UPDATE AS OF FEBRUARY 26TH: Due to overwhelming popularity, the Lightner Museum and WJCT will host a second early screening of the Downton Abbey series finale on March 6 at the Corazon Cinema and Café. The event begins at 2 p.m. with a high tea followed by the final episode of the historic series before it is broadcast live at 9 p.m. on WJCT Public Television.
Tickets are $40 and must be purchased online or by contacting the Lightner Museum via e-mail or telephone. Light refreshments will be provided and costumes are highly recommended. Availability is limited.
