Get ready to do the Jitter Bug! Matuza Main Stage at The Limelight Theatre presents “Jump ‘N Jive Juliet,” a musical comedy that sets Shakespeare’s classic ‘Romeo and Juliet’ to the background of the 40’s musical era of jitterbug, boogie-woogie, and jump ‘n’ jive songs of the big band spirit! The cast features more than 25 local 3rd-6th grade students showcasing their talent!

“Jump ‘N Jive” takes place around who gets the use of the community center space, where Mr. Montague and his son Ron are planning a jitterbug dance contest, while Mr. Capulet and his daughter Juliet are rehearsing “Romeo and Juliet.” When the community center gets double-booked for both these events at the same time, it’s up to Ron and Juliet to settle the grudge between their fathers. If they don’t succeed, the mayor threatens to shut down both family businesses. But with a nosy cleaning woman, a slimy lawyer and his escaped con henchman fueling the fire between the families, this tragedy quickly turns into a hysterical comedy, lead by director and music director Leah Page.

Dance and sing along with them as they showcase all of the hard work they’ve put in this summer!
