Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa will bring together first responders, families and community for its annual 9/11 Memorial Tribute Climb, honoring the lives lost and heroic sacrifices made during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
The 6th Annual 9/11 Memorial Tribute Climb will take place Friday, September 11, 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of the attacks. The event invites participants to climb the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center in remembrance of the 343 firefighters and countless first responders and civilians who lost their lives that day.
The memorial event will begin at Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Coast. Participants and supporters are encouraged to arrive by 7:45 a.m. before an opening ceremony at 8:15 a.m. The ceremony will feature the national anthem, a bagpipe tribute, remarks from local officials and community leaders, and a special flyover by Flagler County FireFlight. Sirens will sound at 8:46 a.m., the moment the first plane struck the North Tower, signaling the official start of the climb. During the tribute, climbers will complete 110 flights of stairs to symbolically honor the ascent many first responders made inside the Twin Towers. Participants will also carry commemorative tokens featuring the faces of fallen heroes and place them on an American flag display after completing the climb.
This year’s event carries additional significance as the nation marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks. While a generation of Americans remembers exactly where they were that day, younger generations continue learning about the events through memorials and community tributes like the Palm Coast climb. Over the past six years, the 9/11 Memorial Tribute Climb at Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa has grown into a meaningful tradition for Flagler County and surrounding communities.

What began as a remembrance event has grown into a widely attended annual tribute. Last year’s climb welcomed nearly 200 participants and more than 250 spectators, reflecting continued community support for honoring the victims and heroes of September 11. In addition to the climb itself, organizers will offer a family-friendly atmosphere throughout the morning. Guests can enjoy a kid’s fun zone, community vendors, patriotic displays and opportunities to cheer on participants as they complete the challenge. Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa will also provide lunch for climbers following the event.
