At 7pm, the celebration will open to everyone who would like to witness the ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a free concert featuring music from the Chris Thomas Band from 7:30pm to 9pm as well as Concert Hall tours and a photo booth. Streaming the Bullet and Sporks Food Trucks will be onsite with delicious dinner options for purchase and the bar will be open for those interested in purchasing adult beverages. The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Terrace
Beginning in February, concert goers will notice that they have a new spot to enjoy cocktails and conversation before, during and after shows, thanks to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall (FOPVCH). Due to the successful fundraising efforts by the non-profit group, FOPVCH presented the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, which owns and operates the Concert Hall, with a $50,000.00 check last November to fund the construction of the outdoor space. The outdoor deck, formally named the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Terrace, is located on the north side of the Concert Hall and can accommodate approximately 125 people. The Terrace will feature a full bar and access to local food trucks offering concert attendees several food options.
Steve Gard, the president of FOPVCH since 2012 said, “I’m grateful for the generosity of the Friends members that made the outdoor deck possible. I believe that the deck will enhance the experience of those attending events at the Concert Hall by creating a place where people can socialize with their friends while not disturbing those listening to music inside.” FOPVCH is a group of local citizens with a vision, who came together and formed a non-profit organization to support the Concert Hall in Ponte Vedra Beach, which opened in February 2011. Membership is open to patrons interested in supporting quality performing arts programming that enhances cultural activities in our community. Memberships begin as low as $50.00 annually.
As Ryan Murphy, director of the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division explained, “The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall hosts over 120 performances and community events each year and welcomes over 75,000 people through its door annually. The FOVPCH Terrace will provide a much-needed alternative space for people to socialize and enjoy refreshments and local foods. We are incredibly grateful for the Friends of Ponte Vedra Concert Hall’s tremendous efforts in making this space a reality.” The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is a multi-use performing arts facility located at 1050 A1A North in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It is owned and operated by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, which also owns and operates the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
