The Women of Vision Advisory Board of Flagler College will host its third annual Power of the Purse® luncheon, an event that raises funds for scholarships and educational opportunities for deserving female students at the College. Come out and support furthering the education of smart, hardworking, capable young women who are dedicated to a brighter future for themselves and women everywhere.
The May 18 event will again take place in the College’s historic Ponce de Leon Hall and will include a silent auction of beautiful purses and an inspirational keynote address. This year’s speaker is Jenny Levison, owner of the Atlanta-based “Souper Jenny” restaurants and catering business and the author of Souper Jenny cookbooks. The entrepreneur’s company has become synonymous with healthful eating, living well and community service.
A key element of the fundraiser is the Power of the Purse® Tribute Book. It provides an opportunity to honor those women who have inspired others through their work or legacy. These full-page tributes, complete with photographs and text, may be purchased for $250 in memory of a loved one or in recognition of a living person.
“Everyone attending the luncheon will receive the signature keepsake from the event — a Tribute Book,” said Cathy Burkhardt, the Board’s chair of the event. “Purchasing a tribute for a special woman in one’s life is a wonderful way to honor or memorialize her, while also supporting the Women of Vision Scholarship Fund for female students at Flagler College.”
The deadline for submitting a tribute is April 13. For more information, visit www.flagler.edu/POPTributes.
