Ever wondered about the sea life that inhabits our waters? Join GTM Research Reserve for a family seining activity. Visitors will get the chance to pull a seine net through Guana Lake, collecting species of fish, crabs and more, and then learn about the animals and their roles in the habitat. All necessary gear including waders and boots will be provided. The program is free with paid entrance and will take place at Guana Dam Recreational Area. Please meet the Guides at the Guana Dam. They will be either be located at the north or south boat ramp (depending on the tide).
The seining adventure will actually take place in Guana Lake in the GTM Reserve, however the technique can be used in anywhere, just be sure to check with your local fish and game department for restrictions.
