Poet Holly Iglesias will do a reading at 6 p.m. as part of the Writers-In-Residence series at Flagler College.
Iglesias’ previous experience includes tax preparation, office work, managerial work, actor and reporter. She has her Ph.D. in interdisciplinary humanities and until recently, taught in the Master of Liberal Arts and the Creative Writing programs. She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and several other arts councils. Currently, she is working on a series of essays that respond to a trove of correspondence between her mother and friends she made working at a defense plant during World War II.
Flagler College Writers-in-Residence program has hosted a number of world-class novelists, short fiction writers, poets and playwrights in the 30-plus years of its existence. The program takes place during the fall and spring semesters of the academic year and is free and open to the public.
