Jacksonville Magazine is hosting the Great Chefs of St. Augustine V this year on Thursday, May 23rd from 6 to 10 pm. The event brings together two teams compiled of St. Augustine’s finest chefs to compete against one another and provide an array of delicious food and drink to the table.
Ten of the top chefs from the St. Augustine area will compete in two teams, Team Island and Team Mainland. Diners who attend will be able to indulge in four courses, sampling eight dishes in total, all of which will be prepared by the dueling teams and paired with wine. Guests will then judge each course, picking one of the two dishes per course as their favorite. The ballots are then totaled to determine a winning team.
Team Island includes chefs Ben Loose from Gas Full Service Restaurant, Bob Henle from The Reef, Chip Richard from Cap’s On the Water, Sebastian Sikora from Dessert First Bistro, and mixologist Nick Massie from Blackfly Restaurant creating cocktails.
Team Mainland includes chefs Scott Ostrander from Casa Monica Spa & Resort, Genie McNally from The Floridian, Matthew Brown from Collage, Nils Rowland from Crème de la Cocoa, and mixologist Kelly Fitzsimonds from Odd Birds Loft.
100% of the proceeds from the Great Chefs of St. Augustine V will go directly to the purchase of food for the Weekend Hunger Backpack Program and Back Roads Program, both of which provide nutritional food to children and families in the community.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $150 per person and are available for purchase on their website.
An event every day that begins at 12:00am, repeating until October 20, 2019
