The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach has announced the dates for its popular annual Juried Artist Member Exhibition (JAME). JAME will begin with an opening reception on Friday, January 24 from 6pm to 8pm. This reception is free and open to the public. JAME will run Monday through Friday, from 10am to 4pm until February 28. Visitors will be able to view a wide variety of local work as artists compete for the opportunity to exhibit and for cash prizes. Art work is available for purchase during the exhibition.
All Cultural Center members are invited to submit work for JAME. The exhibition is open to all media, including 3D works of art. Members can submit up to five works of any art medium. New members are welcome to participate. JAME Submissions are due by the end of the day on January 20. Cultural Center Artist Members may submit two pieces of work at no charge; all additional submissions are $30 per entry. Artist Members may submit up to five pieces of work.
This is the perfect opportunity for artists to showcase their work to the community, learn from other artists, and win a cash prize! The first place winner will receive a $300 award and the option to have a solo exhibition at the Cultural Center during the 2021 exhibition year. Second place will receive a prize of $125 and third place will receive a prize of $75. Honorable mentions will also be selected. Winners will be announced during the opening reception on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 7pm.
The Cultural Center’s Curatorial Committee, made up of three esteemed artists from the community (David Engdahl, Sydney McKenna, and Jan Miller), will also select three artists from the JAME 2020 exhibition that will be invited to display their work at a special exhibition in August and September, 2020 called the Curatorial Choice exhibition.
