Each year, the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra, and the Beaches Visitor and Convention Bureau recognizes outstanding employees in the county’s largest industry, tourism. Employee of the Year awards are presented in five categories: accommodations, attractions, government, restaurant/bar, and retail.

This year, Theresa Letterman, clerk in the St. Augustine & St. Johns County Visitor Information Center’s (VIC) gift shop, was named the recipient of the award in the government category having been nominated by her managers.

In the nomination, Theresa is described by her managers as having “demonstrated a willingness to go beyond her daily responsibilities, and reach outside of her comfort zone to help others, not just our visitors, but also fellow employees within our own divisions at the Visitor Information Center.” Additionally, Theresa received praise for her ability to respond and adapt to ever-changing situations and demonstrating daily that she loves both her work and her team.

Theresa, an employee in the VIC’s gift shop for the past 11 years, was also selected as the Visitor Services Superstar for December 2017 having demonstrated patience and teamwork during the Nights of Lights. The annual holiday season is the busiest time of year for the VIC staff who interact with thousands of visitors and are called upon to provide an extraordinary level of service and hospitality throughout the entire holiday season.

The city congratulates Theresa on this recognition.
