Local actors of all ages are invited to audition for The Greatest Gift, an immersive Christmas production coming to The Village Church at World Golf Village this December.
The original stage experience will take audiences from a modern-day living room to the first Holy Night, revealing the true meaning of Christmas through a family-centered retelling of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, July 29, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m. to noon. Roles are available for children, teens and adults, and no previous stage experience is required. First-time performers are encouraged to audition and show off their talent. The production includes several key roles for both adults and children, ranging from modern-day family members to biblical figures and ensemble characters.
Lead Roles:
- The Modern-day Father (Age 35–45): A cross between Tim Allen and Father Knows Best
- The Modern-day Mother (Age 35–45): Sensible, caring, and family-focused
- Tyler (Age 12–14): The protagonist who undergoes the most profound change in the story
- Emily (Age 7–9): Tyler’s sister, enthusiastic and precocious
- Mary (Age 14–17): Her journey to Bethlehem is revealed through modern-day reflections
- Joseph (Age 18–20): Focused and supportive, with much of his story conveyed through body language
- King Herod (Age 40–50): Tyrannical and intent on maintaining control of his kingdom
- Elizabeth (Age 50s): Mary’s confidante, known for her faith and humility
Supporting ensemble roles include: Innkeeper, Tax Collector, Wise Men, Angels, Shepherds and Roman Soldiers.
Performances are scheduled for December 11th and 12th, 2026.
