Get ready to have some Boot Scootin’ fun at an upcoming charity event, benefiting Investing in Kids (INK). Boot Scootin’ BBQ, a western-themed fundraiser takes place Saturday October 3, from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Rod and Gun Club. The event, sponsored by Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, will benefit students and teachers in St. Johns County.
ABOUT THE EVENT
BBQ & Beverages: Guests will enjoy barbecue from local pitmasters—Mojo BBQ Old City, Smokin D’s BBQ, Woodpeckers Backyard BBQ, with late-night sliders provided by One Twenty Three Burger House. Burkhardt Sales and Service, San Sebastian Winery, and Cowan Financial will be providing drinks at the Watering Hole.
Music & Desserts: For the full honky tonk experience, guests can whoop it up to the tunes of Paper City Hustlers and learn country line dancing with St. Augustine Line Dancers. Many will be roped and tied at the dessert bar with old-fashioned banana pudding by Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q and Kookaburra Coffee.
Cow Pie Bingo: Rype & Readi Farm Market will host Cow Pie Bingo. The game is played in a grassy field painted into squares, and with just one important figure—number two! The stars of the show—two freshly washed and well-fed cows named Annabelle and Cole—will emerge from a trailer and roam the grid. Guests place bets on where the chips will fall for education. Prizes will be awarded from Hammock Beach Resort, Jacksonville Jaguars, Spanish Dutch Convoy, and others.
Mechanical Bull Ridin’: Saddle up for Old City Life Magazine Rodeo to ride a mechanical bull for best male and female first place trophies and prizes! Tailgate with Ocean Grove RV Super Center and route for your favorite football team at you watch the game from outside their RV. Corn hole addict? Hold your Dixie cup in one hand and loft your beanbag with the other as you aim for the board sponsored by Raintree Restaurant.
Photo Opps: Guests will be greeted by St. Augustine Social step and repeat photo opportunity, silent auction, raffles, western photo booth by Leonard’s Studio and more.
