Annual Sing Out Loud Festival Returns as a Two Day Concert

With more than one hundred live performances at multiple venues each weekend from September 8 to October 1, the 7th Annual Sing Out Loud Festival is making September the (unofficial) month of music in St. Johns County.

Produced by St. Johns Cultural Events, the same great team which curates and operates The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, and specialty events like Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series, Sing Out Loud is the annual, epic celebration of live entertainment in the Nation’s Oldest City. The festival curates showcases of national, regional, and local artists for a mix of free and ticketed shows at dozens of venues throughout the area.

In partnership with the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council, Sing Out Loud was introduced in September 2016 and is guided by its core values of music, community, and philanthropy. Sing Out Loud has featured more than 1,300 national, regional, and local musicians and has raised over $300,000 for local non-profit organizations.

New this year is the Francis Field Showcase – an exciting 2-day concert which will welcome an extraordinary lineup of performers from Grammy winning rock duos to innovative genre fusing collectives including The Black Keys, Lord Huron, Yola, War Hippies, Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers, Elle King, Amos Lee, and S.G Goodman. Each artist brings a unique sound, from soul-stirring blues to foot-stomping folk, ensuring an experience that will resonate with all beats of diversity, creativity, and unity.

The festival is expected to bring together the likes of both tourists and locals to enjoy the music and immerse in the rich culture and history of St. Augustine against its beautiful backdrop.

As with previous years, Sing Out Loud is comprised of a variety of elements designed to elevate local artists and build community through live music and performances. The festival includes free local showcases each Friday through Sunday from September 8 to October 1 at various venues around town along with The Lincolnville Porch Fest on Saturday, September 16 in the Lincolnville Historic District.

Several free and ticketed events are scheduled at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre including The St. Augustine Record Fair presented by ToneVendor Records on Sunday, September 24. The St. Augustine Songwriters Festival, also a free event, takes place Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1.
