7 Spots for an Instagram-Worthy Valentine’s Date Night

February 6, 2017 | Molly Wilson

Valentine’s Day is already upon us, folks. Planning out that perfect date night can be a serious hassle and with as romantic as this city is, narrowing down your options can be the biggest challenge of all. So you have to set some standards. After quality time with your special someone, we all know the top requirement for date night is its Instagrammability. After all, if your followers aren’t willing to like or comment, what’s the point? Luckily, St. Augustine lends itself to some fantastic photos. So after you’ve hashtagged your spectacular meal, head over to some of the Ancient City’s most Instagram-worthy date night spots.

Aviles Street
After you’ve enjoyed the city’s endless supply of beautiful food, you’ve got to get in those adorable couples shots (posing in front of romantic scenery and color-coordinated backdrops), so everyone knows you didn’t just go out to a fancy restaurant on your own. Start on Aviles Street. Ivy covered walls and sidewalk dining – plus a lack of heavy traffic, so you can stand in the middle of the street – will convince your followers that the night was a dream.

The oldest street in America 🇺🇸

J&S Carousel
A little ways out of the hustle and bustle of downtown, sits St. Augustine’s utterly enchanting antique carousel. Not just for the little ones, the darling of Davenport Park has enough charm to blow up your phone with notifications. Plus the brightly colored lights will need #nofilter.

Ps, I rode this 🦄

Anastasia State Park
You can’t beat the views at one of the area’s prettiest state parks. An expanse of sky meeting the shimmering water meeting the white sands is a recipe for ‘gram greatness. Take your one and only out on the sand and strike a romantic pose.

St. Augustine Lighthouse
We’re tempted to make the argument that this is one of the best views in the Oldest City. Whether you’re standing in front of the black and white stripes, inside looking up at the winding stairs, or gazing at the beauty of the ocean and the city, any picture is sure to rake in the ❤️s.

Bridge of Lions
This one is certainly no secret, but how could we not include it? Wind-whipped hair and the lights of the city and the beautiful intracoastal as far as the eye can see are sure to gain you some “😍” comments and take up time while you wait for the ships to pass under. We know at least that we’re in love.

Magnolia Avenue
Home to the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park and some of the most stunning trees in the Ancient City, Magnolia Avenue will add a little oomph and a lot of magnificence to your Valentine’s pics. And as any tour guide worth his/her salt will tell you, it’s one of the most beautiful streets in the United States. Who could ask for more?

Historic St Augustine …. Magnolia Avenue. Tour driver said it was rated one of the most beautiful streets in the U.S. I took this picture before he told us that b/c this street is beautiful and unforgettable #staugustine #staugustinefl #stagustineflorida #magnoliaavenuestaugustine #magnoliaavenue #beautifulstreet

This One Green Door in Lincolnville
Okay, hear us out. There’s a seafoam green door next to the Blue Hen Cafe in Lincolnville and it’s perfectly picturesque. There are a lot of brightly colored doors, windows, and walls throughout the Oldest City, but we had to pick a favorite and this one won. If you’re Valentines brunching, this one is a can’t-miss photo op.
