2nd Annual Cancer SMASH is this Weekend

November 18, 2015 | Ariel Thomas

st-augustine-cancer-smashLooking for a fun way to work out, and help beat cancer? The annual Cancer SMASH fundraiser is happening this Saturday, and host DRiV Fitness wants you to come out and participate.

Hosted in conjunction with the Flagler College PRSSA, this fundraiser helps benefit the Flagler Health Care Foundation. A CrossFit workout of the day for beginners and experienced levels will be offered. Divided into three rounds, workouts include one minute stations of burpees, sit-ups, step-ups and dumbbell thrusters, plus a rest station for those who get worn out easily. Prizes, raffles and refreshments will also be given out during this exciting event. Additionally, the $30 registration fee includes a free t-shirt!

The goal of this shindig: to raise funds for those individuals affected by cancer in the community. All proceeds are going to the Flagler Hospital’s Cancer Patient Emergency Fund, which assists cancer patients undergoing treatment through grants for financial assistance. Participants will not only get to join in on an invigorating workout, but their donations will help those in need. Your fellow community members will thank you!

To register, e-mail [email protected]. Don’t forget to select a t-shirt size and sign the online participation waiver! Registration payment will be accepted on the day of the event.

Cancer SMASH starts at 10 a.m. on November 21 at the Reebok store in the St. Augustine Outlets. For more information, visit the Cancer Smash Facebook page, or call 352-672-2490.
