One thing that St. Augustine does indisputably right is the holiday season. There’s never any shortage of tinsel and lights, bells and bows, and all of the other holiday decorations you could imagine. And one of the holiday’s most enthusiastic participants is the local bed & breakfasts. But if you’ve ever wondered what beauty is beyond their wreath-clad doors, you’re now in luck. Because it’s time again for the annual Bed & Breakfast Holiday Tour! Now in its 26th year, this tour will guide you through the historic inns of the city and introduce you to some delicious local food.
THE BASICS
This weekend-long event will take place on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15 from 1-5 pm. There will also be a bonus day on Monday, December 16 for attendees to tour participating museums throughout the town (many museums will also be open for tour-goers on Saturday and Sunday). This year’s event features over 20 bed & breakfasts beautifully decorated for the holiday season under the theme, “The Movies of Christmas.”
This event is a self-guided walking tour, so each guest will be provided with a map to help them navigate throughout the homes. There is also an option to take the complimentary Old Town Trolley shuttle for those who do not wish to walk the entirety of the event. The shuttle will be running from 12-4 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Attendees will have the chance to explore some of the most historic Inns and B&Bs of our town, as well as indulge in some delicious treats! Each inn partners with a local restaurant, providing guests the chance to enjoy signature dishes that capture the local flavor of our city.
